Acoustics, light levels and indoor air quality can all be improved simply -
Sample; - Potentially harmful emissions including VOC’s (Volatile organic compounds) can contaminate indoor air. Some manufacturers actually provide materials that clean the Air with systems derived from Volcanic rock, reducing typical emissions from cleaning agents etc.

Ceilings

Replacement Ceiling tiles can totally “upgrade” any area within a School or College, replacing the stained or sagging tiles.

The improvement will not be just visual – The latest regulations provide guidelines for the performance of all ceiling tiles concerned with both light reflectance and acoustic performance with huge improvements to sound absorbtion and reflectance within the space.

Fire Doors

Fire Doors are a critical part of the compartmentation of the School Building.

All Fire Doors should be in good working order to comply with Building regulations / Fire Safety guidelines. Maintaining doors regularly with the correct materials is critical to the doors’ performance.

Door use can also be “redesigned” with the addition of components to hold the door open and release upon activation of the Fire Alarm for instance, this process stops the “overuse” of the door increasing both the life of the door and the period between scheduled maintenance visits.   

Moving, Folding and Sliding Walls and Partitions

Short, medium and long term maintenance are critical with regards to a moving wall.

The ease with which the “unit” can be operated is heavily reliant on the level of maintenance the components receive.

 

Furniture

A full range of Furniture is available for the Teaching environment and a maintenance procedure exists for all items supplied. A vast range of colours, textures and sizes are available for all academic years

Water Saving Devices

Many options are available from the basic non concussive tap to waterless urinals.

A rainwater capture system can also be installed depending on Site conditions.

Electricity Savings

Two simplistic examples for energy saving are the use of LED Lighting – a simple swap from existing.

Movement sensors to automatically turn lights off generally. Within the standard WC, water heating and Hand drying loading can also be improved –
Sample; - the latest Hand dryers are using 10% of the older versions energy with one option taking just 9 seconds to dry hands with a cost of £0.13p per 1000 uses.

 

Heating Savings

The use of Insulation products within the ceiling greatly improves the thermal performance of the ceiling and can as a by product also improve the acoustic. We can also line existing partitions and external walls to improve the thermal performance.

Cubicles

Within public buildings nothing looks worse than a standard DIY barrel bolt fitted to a cubicle door – often fitted as an “emergency” it looks shabby, unprofessional and unhygienic.

The use of a new piece of door furniture that matches the original and with the original components serviced, can enhance the cubicles and give them a new lease of life.

Our standard procedures would involve cleaning the Cubicles, Vanity units and IPS panels and replacing the relevant damaged or missing components – Hinges / Latches / Flush handles / panels etc.

The “refresh” will brighten the whole WC environment and also improve the day to day functionality of the system. With the most basic of aftercare the installation will look and perform better.
